How we do it
Most of the houses we rewire in Leicester were last done in the 1960s or 70s. The cable is often still sound. What has changed is everything plugged into it: two ovens’ worth of kitchen, an electric shower, a home office and a car on the drive.
We start with a free survey and give you a written plan: which rooms, in what order, which days. You get a fixed price for the whole job, and it only moves if you change what you want.
First fix is the messy part: floorboards up, chases cut, new cable in. Then the plasterer does their bit, and we come back for second fix: sockets, switches, lights and the new board. Every circuit is tested and you get an Electrical Installation Certificate that will satisfy any buyer’s surveyor for the next twenty-five years.

Common questions
Can we live in the house during a rewire?
Usually, yes. We work a floor at a time and leave you a working kitchen and bathroom every night. Empty houses are quicker, and we price that in.
How much mess is there?
Some. We lift floorboards, cut chases and drill through joists. We sheet everything, hoover every evening and fill every chase ready for plastering. We do not plaster ourselves; we can recommend people who do.
How do I know my house needs one?
Rubber or fabric-covered cable, round-pin sockets, a fuse box with wire fuses, or an EICR full of C2 codes. If you are not sure, book an EICR first and we will take the cost off the rewire if you go ahead.
