How we do it
Solar panels and batteries run on direct current. The rest of your house runs on alternating current. The safe part of the job is where the two meet: DC isolation, an inverter sized to the array, and protection rated for both sides.
We start with a survey of the roof and the board, then size the system to how you use power. That means how much you use and when, not the biggest array the roof will hold. You get a written estimate of what it will generate in a Leicester year, and a fixed price.
Scaffolding goes up the day before. Panels go on in a day, and the inverter and battery are wired and commissioned the next. We handle the network operator application and set up the export meter, so your supplier can pay you for what you send back.

Common questions
Is my roof suitable?
South, east and west-facing roofs all work; north-facing is rarely worth it. We check shading, the roof structure and your board during the survey.
Do I need a battery?
If you are out all day, a battery lets you use tonight what you made this afternoon. If someone is home in the day, panels alone often pay back faster.
Do I need planning permission?
Most homes do not. Listed buildings and some conservation areas do, and we check before we quote.
