Six kinds of job cover nearly everything we are asked to do. Each has a published starting price and a page that says exactly what is included.

About Redvers
Four electricians, two vans and a certificate for every job
Tom Redvers started the firm in 2014, rewiring houses for two Leicester letting agents. Most of our work still comes the same way: someone we did right by tells a neighbour. We are not the cheapest in the city. We are the ones who test the circuits we did not touch, and tell you when the job you rang about does not need doing.

How it works
How a job runs, from phone call to certificate
The same four stages whether it is one socket or a whole house.
Tell us the job
Use the estimator, call, or send two photos. Most jobs are priced the same day without a visit.
Fixed price in writing
What we will do, what it costs, which certificate you get and the date we can start.
Tested before it goes live
We prove every circuit dead before we touch it, test it before it goes live again, and sheet the floor first.
Certificate and tidy-up
Old parts taken away, a hoover round, and the certificate in your inbox the same evening.
EV chargers from £895
What would an electric car cost you to run?
Move the sliders to your mileage and tariff. On an overnight EV tariff, most drivers we fit for pay less than a third of what they spent on petrol.

Reviews
286 reviews, and most of them mention the tidy-up
4.9
out of 5, from 286 reviews left after the job was finished
“They found a borrowed neutral two other electricians had walked past, fixed it, and showed me the readings before and after.”
“The price on the quote was the price on the invoice. Board done by three, and they hoovered the understairs cupboard.”
“Charger on the wall before lunch, app set up on my phone, and the cable run tidier than the gutter above it.”

FAQ
Questions we hear on the doorstep
Split by who is asking. Anything else, call and an electrician will answer.
Is the fixed price really fixed?
Yes. The price in writing is the price you pay, unless you add work or we open something up and find a fault nobody could have seen. If that happens, we stop, show you, and price it before we carry on.
How soon can you start?
Small jobs and EICRs usually within three working days, consumer units within a week, rewires in about three weeks. The estimator shows the next free day for each job.
Do you clean up after yourselves?
Dust sheets down before tools come out, a hoover round at the end of every day, and old fittings taken away. Chases are filled and left ready to paint.
Will I get a certificate?
Every job gets one: an Electrical Installation Certificate for new circuits and boards, a Minor Works Certificate for alterations, and building control notification where the law says so.
Do you work outside opening hours?
Yes. Shops, offices and surgeries often need the power off when nobody is in. Evening and weekend work is priced up front, with no surprise uplift on the invoice.
Can you test a whole building for our insurer?
We carry out commercial EICRs and portable appliance testing, per distribution board and per item. You get one report your insurer and landlord will both accept.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
For multi-site landlords and small businesses we offer an annual plan: emergency lighting tests, a set response time and a single monthly invoice. Ask for a quote.
Are you insured for commercial work?
Yes, £2m public liability and £10m employer's liability. Certificates are available on request before we start.
How long does an EV charger install take?
Half a day for most houses. Long cable runs, a post instead of a wall, or an earthing upgrade can make it a full day.
Which chargers do you fit?
We fit a small range of 7 kW smart chargers we trust, tethered or untethered, all with off-peak scheduling and load management. If you have already bought one, we can fit that too.
Can I charge from a normal socket instead?
For occasional top-ups, yes. Every night on a three-pin plug is slow and puts a long, heavy load on a socket that was not designed for it. A wall charger is about three times faster.
What about flats and shared drives?
We need the freeholder's or neighbour's permission in writing and a route for the cable that stays on your supply. We can quote once we know where the car parks.
Need it done this week?
Small jobs and EICRs usually go in within three working days. Get your price now and we will call to confirm the day.
